Welke drie vormen van 'to be' ken je?

Wanneer gebruik je de 'Present Continuous'?

• De vorm gebruik je als iets aan de gang is op het moment dat je erover spreekt of schrijft.
• Iets gebeurt dus op dit moment.

Hoe maak je de present cont.

am / are / is + werkwoord + ing

He is working at the moment.

They are ice skating right now. 

Voorbeeld

Timmy is sitting on a warm toilet seat.

Spellings uitzonderingen 

1. Als het werkwoord eindigt op een -e, dan laat je deze weg als je -ing toevoegt.           dance -  dancing 

2. ls het werkwoord één lettergreep heeft en eindigt op een klinker + medeklinker verdubbel je de laatste medeklinker.

Hoe maak je vraagzinnen

Voor een vraagzin zet je am / are / is vooraan in de zin.

vb: He is working now  --> Is he working now?

regel: am/are/is + onderwerp + werkwoord + ing

Samenvatting:

• Je gebruikt de Present Continuous als iets nu gebeurt.
  
  
• Standaard: am / are / is + ww + ing
• Vraagzin am/are/is + onderwerp + ww + ing
• Ontkenning: am/are/is + not + ww + ing
  
  
• Werkwoord eindigt op -e? Weg ermee! Cycle —> cycling
  Eén lettergreep, eindigt op klinker + medeklinker? = extra medeklinker! Put ——> putting
