• Je gebruikt de Past Simple om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden is gebeurd en nu is afgelopen. 
• Vaak staat er in de zin een verledentijdsbepaling zoals; Yesterday, last week & last Thursday etc.. 

Past Simple

Bij regelmatige werkwoorden = Stam + ed 
Bij onregelmatige werkwoorden = See Pg. 163 TB (De 2e vorm) 

Listen = Listened
Phone = Phoned

Panic = Panicked 
Stop = Stopped
Study = Studied

Past Continuous

Je gebruikt de Past Continuous om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden een tijdje aan de gang was. 

Past Continuous

Was / Were + Infinitief + ing
We were investigating 

Past Simple vs Past Continuous

Je gebruikt de past simple en past continuous samen als je wilt zeggen dat er in het verleden iets gebeurde (Past Simple), terwijl iets anders aan de gang was (Past continuous)
