Slide 1 - Question ouverte

Werenfridus week

This week you are going to make a “glossy”
magazine about your school, Hoorn and The Netherlands. You will write it in
English of course.

The idea behind this is for those of you who
live outside Hoorn to become familiar with Hoorn.

Also it will be very useful to have a nice
document to share with students from other countries.

Each class makes a magazine. Your mentor is in
charge of what goes into the magazine. A sort of Editor. You give it a name.

At the end of the week everything must be
finished so that we can judge the final versions.

The best one (class) will win a prize.

1) Plan your CONTENT. Think about which statements will apply to your magazine:

a)    It will have lots of factual information to inform and educate readers

b)    It will have lots of ideas and advice for readers who want to change their life/lifestyles

c)    It will be ‘subject specific’ throughout (it’s about one subject all the way through)

Slide 15 - Question ouverte

Now.............

  1. Make a rough plan of what you could write about, which pictures you can use, and how your page(s) will look.

2. Once you are happy with your plan ask your teacher to come and discuss it with you. You then have to agree who does what, when and how. The teacher  will write this down.

3. When everyone knows what they have to do you can start working.

4. You may need to use your ipad, coloured pens and pencils or glue.

5.When you have written your piece for the magazine you can ask someone to check it for you (There will hopefully also be some third form students to help).

5. Once it has been checked and corrected, hand it in to the teacher. He or she may ask you to do something else, or help another group.
