Adverbs
  • an adjective (bijvoegelijk naamwoord) defines a noun (zelfstandig naamwoord) 

- An awful song.
- The song was awful. (na koppelwerkwoord 'be')
- That looked awful. (na koppelwerkwoord 'look')

Je gebruikt xe om extra informatie toe te voegen over hoe, wat of wanneer. 
Adverbs
  • an adverb (bijwoord) defines a verbadjective or adverb.

  • Adverbs usually end in -ly: Beautifully, Happily, Angrily

Comparison: adverbs
To make a comparative form with an adverb we use more or less
more quickly (than) / less quickly (than)
more often (than) / less often (than)

Some forms are irregular, these are the same as the adjectives:
fast -> faster (than) / early -> earlier (than)

Comparison: adverbs
To make comparisons we can also use:
(not) as + adverb + as
the not usually goes with the verb

Martina can run as fast as Silvia.
Thom can't sing as well as Cal.
I do not go out as often as I did in the past.
