Now that you have chosen a country and city....

Online Students:  Find a hotel/youth hostel or other accommodation and write an email and include the information in the next slide in your email.

Students in the class:  You will (pretend) to call an uncle who lives in your chosen country.  Follow the script and answer the questions asked (see handout). Remember to record your conversation and hand in the recording.  Make up your own answers!

If you are finished writing your email or recording you telephone conversation, start researching the answers to questions in the  "Holiday research organiser" sheet (see your email)

- Ask the hotel/accommodation to confirm pricing and availability?
- Ask the hotel/accommodation one question about the facilities?
- Ask the hotel/accommodation about an airport transfer or transport options to the hotel?
- Ask the hotel/accommodation about what there is to do when you are there?

Working towards a final assignment.....
Over the next three weeks you will work on collecting information about an English speaking country that you will be travelling to on holiday . Each week you also answer a few of the research questions about your chosen country (see next slide).

You pretend you have now been on holiday and at the end of the lesson series ( before lesson 4) you will need to hand in your final work in the form of a 1 minute pitch about the country and city chosen. Video yourself and include the real answers to at least 4 research questions in your pitch, plus tell me about where you stayed when you were there, what you did, something interesting about the culture and why you wanted to travel to your chosen country. Tell me just enough to convince me to also want to travel there and see it for myself.
