• You only use THIS and THAT with singular (enkelvoud) words! Like: Chair, Table, Bed. 

For example: Look at THAT chair over there! or  I am going to sit on THIS chair next to me.

THESE/THOSE

• You only use THESE and THOSE with plural (meervoud) words! Like: Chairs, Tables, Beds.

For example: Look at THOSE chairs over there! or I am going to sit on one of THESE chairs next to me.
