Gebruik: We gebruiken relative pronouns (betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden)
--> te verwijzen naar  mensen, dingen and dieren

Dit betrekkelijk voornaamwoord mag soms gebruikt worden in plaats van who (personen) of which(dingen/dieren)

We use this Relative pronoun to indicate that someone/something possesses* something else.

Na een komma gebruik je nooit 'that'

Wanneer gebruik je nooit that?

Soms geeft een bijzin alleen extra informatie, je gebruikt dan nooit that, maar altijd who of which. De bijzin staat tussen komma's.


          This bank, which is quite old, is hard to break into.



Als je de bijzin weglaat, verandert de betekenis van de

zin niet.

Je kunt een betrekkelijk voornaamwoord weglaten als
  • het al duidelijk is om wie of wat het gaat
  • het pronoun NIET op het onderwerp slaat
  • er een voornaamwoord achter staat

Bezittelijk: mijn, zijn, onze, etc.
Wederkerend: me, je, zich, etc.
