Present simple

• hele ww (talk, dance, party, go, etc.)
• Let op de shit-regel: bij she/he/it krijg je het hele ww +s (talks, dances)
• Als het werkwoord op een -y eindigt krijg je -ies (parties), eindigt het op een -o krijg je -es (goes), eindigt het op een -s klank, krijg je ook -es (dresses, waxes)

Gebruik

• Als iets altijd, nooit of regelmatig gebeurt
• Bij feiten
• Bij gewoontes (overlap met eerste bullet)
• Signaalwoorden: always, never, sometimes, often, occasionally (woorden die regelmaat aangeven)
• We often fly to London and back. Every Sunday, he plays football. 

Present continuous

• am/are/is + ww + ing (I am talking, he is talking)
• Gebruik voor dingen die op dit moment, nu bezig zijn. 
• Als je irritatie aangeeft met de woorden 'always' en 'constantly'
• Signaalwoorden: now, right now, at the moment, currently, look! listen!
• At the moment, Fleur is playing golf. Listen! Fabian is playing the piano. Look! Jente is dancing outside. 
• Why is he always singing in the shower? I hate it.
