Modals I (kunnen)
  • can = kunnen (iemand kan iets, iets is toegestaan, iets is mogelijk)
  • could = zou kunnen (en beleefde vragen)
  • To be able to = in staat zijn 
  • I can't come to your party &  Could you help me out?
  • I'm not able to  come to your party because I have to babysit my sister
