Complete the questions on the following slides to the best of your ability. 

The total marks available is 40.

Infinitives

Remember that infinitives are the smallest form a verb can be.

In Spanish, they all end in either

- ar               - er                 -ir

They all mean to... 

e.g. ganar = to win

Write the translation of the verb in English
e.g. preguntar (you write 'to ask')
estudiar

vivir

hablar

escribir

leer

comer

escuchar

cantar

pintar

Conjugations

Remember conjugation means changing the infinitive (the verb) depending on who is doing it and when.

In Spanish, you don't need to include the personal pronoun because the verb endings indicate who is doing the verb!

Remember that in order to do this you need to go gardening...

Snip off the ending (-ar, -er, -ir) and add the ending you want!

Conjugate the verb cantar in the present tense for all 6 pronouns
(yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas).
Write them using commas and don't forget to include the accent in the vosotros form!
e.g. conjugation, conjugation, conjugation etc.

Conjugate the verb hablar in the present tense for all 6 pronouns
(yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas)

Conjugate the verb comer in the present tense for all 6 pronouns
(yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas)

Conjugate the verb leer in the present tense for all 6 pronouns
(yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas)

Conjugate the verb escribir in the present tense for all 6 pronouns
(yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas)

Conjugate the verb vivir in the present tense for all 6 pronouns
(yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas)

Translations

Now you're going to translate some verbs into Spanish, including the pronoun.

Although remember that you don't always need to include the personal pronoun because the verb ending tells you who is doing it! 

Sometimes it's useful to include it...

e.g. does 'lee' refer to 'she reads', or 'he reads'? Better include the pronoun in this case!

Translate 'she sings' into Spanish
(remember to include the pronoun)

Translate 'I read' into Spanish

Translate 'we speak' (masc)
into Spanish

Translate 'You eat' (plural, fem)
into Spanish (don't forget the accent!)

Translate 'they read' (fem)
into Spanish

Translate 'we write' (masc)
into Spanish

Translate 'he studies'
into Spanish

*Note: you need to include a capital letter and full stop.
