Effective feedback should answer the following 3 questions:

1.Where is the learner going? 

-Learning aims and SC

2.Where is the learner right now?

-Evidence of student learning gives teacher + student the answer.

3.How does the learner get there?

-Clarify the steps needed to achieve the aim and adapt teaching if necessary

Peer feedback

• Peer feedback is effective feedback (answers the 3 questions)
• Peer feedback includes WWW (What Went Well) and EBI (Even Better If)
• Peer feedback is ALWAYS objective (on task, not on person)
• Peer feedback is SMART - linked to aims and SC

Feedback questions challenge your peers to explain their ideas better.

• What do you mean exactly? What are you trying to say here?
• Why do you say this? 
• How can you explain and justify this?
