You are going to read a text with the title Halloween. Look at the title, the headings and the photo. 

What is this text about?
What do the headings tell you about the text?

 Now, read the text for the first time. Read the text actively: think while reading the text. What do you already know? What is new information? Do you understand the words? 

Underline information that is new.

Circle   difficult words.  

Highlight all signal words in the text!

Create a mind map about Halloween.
