Much: uncountable nouns (e.g. money, information, time)
Many: countable nouns 
A lot of/lots of: bij bevestigende zinnen bij alle nouns!

Female/Male/Neuter
Some words are similar for both females and males
  • baby, dancer, relative 
Some words are different, the female word gets an appendix
  • Actor - Actress
  • Heir - Heiress
  • Hero - Heroine

  • bull  - cow
  • cock - hen
  • bachelor - spinster
  • king -  queen

Personal pronouns
In general:
Only people and pets are referred to as 'he, his, him, she, her'

All other stuff: it, its
Exception: boats and cars are sometimes referred to as 'she' or 'her' especially when their owner is fond of them!
Countries: in writing often 'she'.
