The past continuous 

* I was walking on the street when I saw a good friend of mine. I stopped to say: "Hello". 

*Wat was hier een tijdje aan de gang toen de actie werd onderbroken? 

Dit heet de: 'past continuous'

*Je mag ook onthouden: "was/were + werkwoord + ing" om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden een tijdje aan de gang was. 

1. I was walking on the street when I saw him.

2. he/she/it was walking on the street when he/she/it saw him.

3. we/you/they were walking on the street when ....... saw him.

De meesten van jullie kunnen de onregelmatige werkwoorden (in other words: irregular verbs) dromen. Zo niet: Dan zou ik ze in ieder geval voor Unit 4 (als de toets eraan komt weer goed doornemen -> je hebt de 2e rij nodig!) - to be - was/were - been
