woordsoorten kennen:

Woordsoorten (1)

1. Noun = zelfstandig naamwoord (zn)
2. Pronoun = (persoonlijk) voornaamwoord (vnw)
3. Verb = werkwoord (inf)

1. Adjective = bijvoeglijk naamwoord (bn)
2. Article = lidwoord (lw)
3. Adverb = bijwoord (bw)

1. Preposition = voorzetsel
2. Conjunction = voegwoord

• Alle woorden staan op alfabetische volgorde
• Maar niet alle woorden:
   > extremely
   > loved
   > talking
   > went
• Zoek altijd naar de STAM van het woord

Stam van het woord

It was extremely cold outside.     >   stam = extreme

She loved her new phone.           >   stam = love

That is unfair.                               >   stam = fair  

They are talking too much.          >   stam = talk

We went home after class.           >   stam = go

Tips voor gebruik van een woordenboek

• Bekijk eerst of je de betekenis kunt raden door de andere woorden


• Bekijk of het woord op een ander woord lijkt
• Zoek het stam van het woord: slow ipv slowly, extend ipv extended
• Let op:  er staan vaak meerdere betekenissen; kies de juiste
• Oefen met het woordenboek dat je op je examen gaat gebruiken

Guess the word 

• Het raden van een woord is ook een vaardigheid die je kunt ontwikkelen. Zo hoef je niet elke keer het woordenboek erbij te pakken.  
• Je kan de betekenis soms uit een zin halen, het woord kan op het Nederlands lijken of misschien herken je al een deel van het woord.
