Can you remember when they were used? In what kind of situation? 

Present simple 

The bus leaves at 10:45.

What things in the future is the present simple used for?

Present continuous

We are eating dinner at John’s house on Friday.

I am seeing the dentist next Tuesday.

The present continuous is used for ?

‘To be’ going to + verb

I am going to visit my cousin at the weekend.

Will/Shall + verb

Will or shall

•  spontaan beslissing gemaakt op het moment van spreken
•  een voorspelling gebaseerd op mening

• een belofde aan iemand
• een feit
•  een voorstel (shall)

Overview

• ‘To be’ going to + verb - iets dat is al gepland/afgesproken, intentie of voorspelling met bewijs
• Will/Shall + verb - voorstel, verzoek, belofte, spontaan reactie, feiten in de toekomst, voorspelling zonder bewijs.
• Present simple - iets dat op een schema staat.
• Present continuous - iets dat is gepland, een afspraak (Future diary)
