• You can recognise the four future tenses.
• You can understand which future tense is used in which situation.

Will/Shall + verb (hele ww)

Will or shall + hele ww

•  spontaan beslissing gemaakt op het moment van spreken
•  een voorspelling gebaseerd op mening (I think....) 

• een belofte aan iemand
•  een voorstel, verzoek

will not = won't : I won't call you later! I am not home.

Shall + verb

Shall we have something to eat? 

Shall I help you with those bags? 

 

Shall - heel vaak in vragen , gebruikt met I en We

Als je wilt dat iemand anders de beslissing neemt of je wilt iets aanbieden.

Overview

• Present simple - iets dat op een schema staat.
  
• Present continuous - iets dat is gepland, een afspraak (Future diary)
• Will/Shall + verb - voorstel, verzoek, belofte, spontaan reactie, voorspelling zonder bewijs.
• ‘To be’ going to + verb - iets dat is al gepland/afgesproken, intentie of voorspelling met bewijs
