Things, places, people that you can see or touch like car, dog, doctor, house.
Proper nouns

Words for people, places and things that start with a capital letter like Meergronden, Daniël, Amsterdam.

Collective nouns

Nouns that are singular but describe a group of people like team, school  (of fish), class. 

Watch out: regular plural nouns that also have a singular form (that refers to one person/thing/place etc) are not collective nouns. I.e. "girls"
Abstract nouns

Words for concepts and ideas that you cannot touch, see or hear like freedom, love, hate, happiness.
