5A GRAMMAR - Comparative adjectives and adverbs

Comparatives: To compare things we use "as" or "than"
Adverbs
To compare two actions we use:
  • comparative adverbs (often ends in ly). She speaks English more fluently than her sister
  • less + adverb:  She works less quickly than you
  • (not) as + adverb + as:  Your dog doesn't  eat as much as  my dog!

To compare two people, places and things we use:
  • comparative adjectives: A bus is bigger than a car
  • less + adjective: A Hoorn is less busy than Hong Kong
  • (not) as + adjective + as: This year's  school camp is not  as exhausting as the previous one.
