So President Eisenhower believed that if Indochina fell into communist hands, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia would follow.

  • US regards this as a major communist threat
  • VThe United Nations sends a force (led by the US). The Soviet Union boycotts the UN and is absent from the vote
  •  China gets involved briefly in the war in October 1950.
