I always cycle to school.

My dad drives to his work.

We eat pizza every Friday.

• Do you know what these sentences mean?
• Which word is the verb in each sentence?
• When do we add an -s to the verb?

We use the present simple to talk about facts, habits and routines.

Add an S to the verb for He / She / IT (the shit rule)

When do we use the present simple? 

To talk about facts, habits and routines

The shit rule: 

I talk - he talks

we sing - she sings

you run - it runs

he / she / it: verb + S

O -> oes

vowel + y -> s

consonant + y -> ies

s sound -> es

What happens to change the sentence to a negative sentence?

• Don't /doesn't is added
• Don't / doesn't comes before the verb

Rule:

I / you / we / they: Don't(+verb)

Rule:

He/ she / it: Doesn't (+verb)

S moves from the verb to doesn't
