Present simple 

The bus leaves at 10:45.

Present continuous

1. We are eating dinner at John’s house on Friday.

2. I am seeing the dentist next Tuesday.

• Is dit een plan? Ga ik dit doen? 
• Weet ik wanneer het zal plaatsvinden?

The present continuous is used for ?

‘To be’ going to + verb

I am going to visit my cousin at the weekend.

• Heb ik dit net beslist of maakte ik de beslissing in de verleden?

It is going to rain, those dark clouds are coming this way - What does this sound like?

Will/Shall + verb

What is the meaning behind all these sentences:

Overview

• Present simple - iets dat op een schema staat.
• Present continuous - iets dat is gepland, een afspraak (future diary)
• ‘To be’ going to + verb - iets dat is al gepland/afgesproken, intentie of voorspelling met bewijs
• Will/Shall + verb - voorstel, verzoek, belofte, spontaan reactie, feiten in de toekomst, voorspelling zonder bewijs.
