Je weet nu hoe we gewone en vraagzinnen maken in de Present Simple. 

Nu gaan we kijken naar ontkenningen.

Negations

Ontkenningen vertellen je over iets wat niet gebeurt.

Soms zie je het woordje not in ontkenningen, maar bijna altijd zie je de verkorte vorm n't, als in don't of doesn't.

Een voorbeeld: She doesn't like school.

Je maakt een ontkenning door don't of doesn't aan de zin toe te voegen. Denk aan de SHIT Rule!
Dus niet zo:
                                        I like not cookies. 

Maar zo:
                                       I don't like cookies

Kijk naar wat er met de persoonsvorm gebeurt in de volgende zin:

                                 He plays video games every day.

                        He doesn't play video games every day.

De +s verdwijnt na doesn't.

Het werkwoord 'to be' is weer bijzonder. 
Als de persoonsvorm in de zin am, is of are is, hoef je alleen maar not toe te voegen. 

I am a teacher. wordt I am not teacher.
