After watching.. inside the world's toughest prisons - Papua New Guinea

We are going to discuss some statements from the episode we watched during our previous lesson.
 
You will discuss these statements in pairs. One of you will write down your answer in LessonUp.

But first.. in your opinion, what was the most shocking aspect of the prison in Papua New Guinea?

In that prison, guards use voilence.

Do you think using violence in prison is a necessity? Explain your answer.

‘No bunks, no mattresses, just a meter of concrete for each prisoner’
Do you think they should globally make rules for this? What rules should be made?

What should the daily maximum time in a cell be?

What do you think of the the fact that there is a so called VIP cell for high profile people (businessmen, soldiers, policemen, parliamentarians)?

Inmates at the Norgerhaven prison in Veenhuizen, Netherlands, have a bed, furniture, a refrigerator, and a TV in their cells, as well as a private bathroom. They also get a window with a view of the prison yard.
