KEY TERMS:
If circumstances are ideal a
population will have exponential
growth, this means it doubles
every generation, so 2, 4, 8, 16,
32 etc. This goes on till the
population reaches the carrying
capacity.
population starts growing
exponential
growth
carrying capacity

Slide 6 - Diapositive

LIMITING FACTORS
When a population reaches the carrying capacity, the growth of the population is slowed down by the limiting factors:
  • oxygen
  • toxic waste
  • overcrowding
  • predators
  • disease
  • climate
  • lack of shelter

Slide 7 - Diapositive

POPULATION RESEARCH
