The Past = de verleden tijd

Je maakt de verleden tijd in het Engels door:

- ED achter het werkwoord te zetten

of:

Je kijkt op naar de 2e rij van je lijst!

Voorbeelden:

Yesterday, I walked to school (to walk)

When I was little, I lived in Leeuwarden (to live)

Last week, we studied for our test (to study)

In 2019, we went to London (to see)

De woorden:

was/were

could/should/will

have got/has got

komen aan het begin van de zin:

You were happy -> Were you happy?

Bij alle andere werkwoorden

zet je het woord    did     vooraan in de zin. 

Het werkwoord gaat dan ook weer terug naar het werkwoord in de tegenwoordige tijd.

We saw a film -> Did we see a film?

Uitleg: Vragen maken in de verleden tijd

WH-woorden

Je kunt met de woorden:

who, what, why, when, where, which, how

ook een vraagzin maken. 

Deze woorden zet je dan helemaal vooraan in de vraagzin
