A text or several short texts, preceded by ten multiple-matching questions.

In the mock exam, you read a magazine article in which five career consultants give advice about starting a career. You had to match each of the ten statements to one career consultant.

Exam advice
  • The questions or statements precede the text(s) in this part of the exam. Study these carefully before you read the text(s).
  • Read the text(s) carefully, looking for the information referred to in the ten questions or statements.
  • Many of the sections may say similar things, so you will have to read carefully to decide which section answers to the question exactly.
  • Underline the relevant section and put the question number in the margin.
  • Avoid simply matching words. It's a trap!
