EXAMPLE

Past simple:

I slept twelve hours yesterday.

Present Perfect:

I have slept today well.

Past Continuous

EXAMPLE

I was sleeping when my mom came into the room.

EXAMPLE: What were you doing when I called you?

1. When you called me,

 I was having lunch.

or

2. I was having lunch when you called me.
