Grammar: 7 Some and any
Some and any both mean 'a number' or 'a few'.
Translated to Dutch: een beetje, een paar
  • For negative sentences we use ANY. (not/don't/doesn't)
  • For most questions we use ANY.  (?)
  • For questions where the answer is YES -> Some.
  • For positive sentences we use SOME

Do you have any sugar?   (question)
Can I have some tea? (Question -> YES)

She doesn't have any suger. (negative s.)
There aren't any apples left. (negative s.)

I need some eggs. (positive s.)
