General school rules
• Be on time at the start of the lesson, bring your laptop, books, clothing and materials with you.
• Show respect for your fellow students, the staff of the school, the building and environment. 
•  Mobile phones are not visible and on silent mode during lessons.
•  Together we make sure that our school is safe and clean.
• We only eat and drink in the designated areas. In class you can drink water. Students take responsibility themselves for their laptops.
• In school/class our faces are recognizable so this means no wearing of caps, hats and helmets in the school.
• Only with permission of the person(s) involved we take pictures or film each other.

Word order
Place and time are always at the end of the sentence. 
(exception is time at the beginning of the sentence for emphasis)


1. The United States of America have been independent since 1776.
2. Last year we went on holiday to Spain.
3. The Lakers became champions in Los Angeles in 2009.

Word order
Adverbs of frequency:always, sometimes, never, rarely, on occasion, now and then

...are placed before the main verb:
I always travel by myself.

...after the verb to be:
It is never too late to give someone a second chance.

...after the auxiliary verb (hulpwerkwoord), with more than two verbs:
They could sometimes be calling for help.

In a minute we are going to watch a video about afternoon tea. Write down as many etiquette rules as you can hear.

Exercise; afternoon tea
Now you will create your own afternoon or high tea. 
You can work on your device and make an English menu for the afternoon/high tea.

The menu should include:
- at least three different sandwiches
- at least three other foods
- a minimum of two kinds of tea

Also, create a nice lay-out. Try to make it look as if you could really find it in a fancy English hotel.
