Slide 13 - Quizvraag

Now if you could go anywhere...
Picture this: your class has won a trip around the world, for you to plan.
BUT:
- you can travel to a maximum of eight different countries
- you have to visit a minimum of three continents
- you have to use a minimum of three different kinds of transportation.
- you can only travel in one direction: only east, or only west. You can travel from north to south and back without restriction.

Slide 14 - Tekstslide

Example
I want to travel from Paris, France to Budapest, Hungary to Sydney, Australia, to Thailand, Asia, to Peru, South America, to Reykjavik, Iceland.

Does this meet all the requirements?

Slide 15 - Tekstslide

Your task
In your group, first decide on the eight countries that you're going to visit
Secondly, decide how long you're going to spend in each country
Thirdly, decide what you're going to once you're there.
Finally, decide which part of your trip is the most interesting because that's what you're going to present to the rest of us.

You have today and all of tomorrow's lesson to work on it. In the second lesson of next week, each group will present their trip.

Slide 16 - Tekstslide

Possible forms of your presentation.
The easiest and quickest: a PowerPoint or Prezi which you present in front of the class.

All other creative forms (vlogs, websites, all the socials) are allowed, as long as all of you are ready to tell us about it.

We will vote for the trip we like most.

Slide 17 - Tekstslide

Speak English!
I'll put you in groups.
Speak English at all times. Not speaking English makes the whole exercise rather pointless, in which case you might learn almost as much from going downstairs and mopping the floors or cleaning the toilets.

Homework for tomorrow: nothing at all, unless you want to work on your trip

Slide 18 - Tekstslide

Today
At the end of tomorrow's lesson you should have...

- decided on all the countries you're going to visit and how long you're going to spend in each country,
- decided what you're going to do once you're there. Bungeejumping off the Bloukrans bridge in South Africa? Diving in the Great Barrier Reef? Free climbing in Yosemite National Park? Spelunking in Alaska? Shopping in Dubai? Sailing in the Mediterranean? Swimming between two tectonic plates in Iceland? Safari in Tanzania?
- decided which part of your trip you're going to present to the rest of us
- decided who says what, and how you want to support your presentation. Powerpoint? Prezi? Pictures? Nothing at all, just your sparkling personalities?

All groups present the best part on their trip on the 27th of September!

The coming few lessons:
- Today: finish the travel project, including your presentation and who is going to say what.
- Thursday 26/09: Diagnostic SO, reading and time to study for the SO.
- Friday 27/09: Every group presents the best part of their trip. More info about this on the next slide.
Thursday 03/10: SO and start of chapter 2.

Slide 22 - Tekstslide

Presenting your trip
What you include:
1. All the countries you're going to visit, and which continents they are on.
2. The means of transportation that you're going to use.
3. Only for the best part of your trip, you give us a day-by-day overview of what you're going to do. Include where you'll be staying, special activities etc. Visual aid is  appreciated but not mandatory.
4. Why we should vote for your trip
Everybody in your group has to do part of the talking!

Reminder of what I want:
- Everyone says something!
- An overview of your entire trip: which countries are you going to visit, on which continents are they, how are you going to get there.
- The best part of your trip: a day-to-day overview of what you'll be doing once you're there.

When your group is not presenting, pay close attention because I will be asking you for feedback!

Slide 26 - Tekstslide

Which trip did you like most?

Slide 28 - Open vraag

Now what?
In your book or on your device, do some more studying for the test.

I will treat the whole class to chocolate if the class average is 8,0 or over.
