We always get up late on Sundays.

often - vaak

sometimes- soms

usually - meestal

rarely - zelden

hardly ever -  bijna nooit

once in a while- af en toe

occasionally - af en toe

Word order can be confusing!

- adverbs usually go  before main verbs (werkwoorden)

                                                                                     I sometimes go to the gym.

                                                                                     I have never seen that film

                                                                                     He would never do that 

- but adverbs go  afer am/is/are/ was/ were 

                                                                                    I am always here. 

                                                                                    They were usually early

                                                                                  

- some adverbs of frequency can also go at the beginning or end of a sentence.

                                                            Sometimes I go to the gym. / I go to the gym sometimes.
