Passive

Lijdende vorm: De focus ligt niet op wie wat doet, maar op wat er gedaan wordt

De film werd bekeken. 

De krant wordt gelezen.

Een cadeau is gegeven. 

Grammaticale tijden worden hetzelfde gebruikt, alleen is de vorm iets anders. Overal wordt een vorm van 'to be' aan toegevoegd + voltooid deelwoord. 

De vorm van 'to be' wordt vervoegd zoals de 'normale' grammaticale tijd wordt vervoegd. 

Passive

simple past	was/were + voltooid deelwoord
present perfect	have/has been + voltooid deelwoord
past perfect	had been + voltooid deelwoord

Tag questions

Korte vragen aan het einde van een zin, gebruikt om om bevestiging te vragen. In het Nederlands: toch? hè? 

John reageert altijd snel boos, toch? 

John always reacts angrily fast, doesn't he? 

In de tag question gebruik je altijd een persoonlijk voornaamwoord dat past bij het onderwerp van de zin. Is de zin bevestigend, dan is de tag ontkennend en andersom. 

Tag questions

Kijk altijd naar het werkwoord om te weten welke vorm je moet gebruiken in de tag question. Vier mogelijkheden:

1. De zin staat in de simple present

2. De zin staat in de simple past

3. De zin bevat een vorm van het werkwoord 'to be'

4. In de zin staan meerdere werkwoorden 

Tag questions

1. De zin staat in de simple present

Je gebruikt in de tag question 'do' of 'does' (bij S.H.It-regel) 

They walk very quickly, don't they? 

Laura listens to this music often, doesn't she? 

Tag questions

2. De zin staat in de simple past

Je gebruikt 'did' in de tag question. 

We saw you last weekend, didn't we? 

Kevin bought that shirt yesterday, didn't he? 

Tag questions

3. De zin bevat een vorm van het werkwoord 'to be'

Je gebruikt deze zelfde vorm van 'to be' in de tag question.

That man was in New York last year, wasn't he? 

You are leaving in ten minutes, aren't you? 

Tag questions

4. In de zin staan meerdere werkwoorden 

Je gebruikt het eerste hulpwerkwoord in de tag question.

Lisa has been friends with him for years, hasn't she? 

We will talk tomorrow, won't we? 

It is hot, ...?

You were joking, ...?

He was not angry, ...?

You can ski, ...?

You haven't got a car, ...?

You like tomato soup, ...?

Change these active sentences into passive sentences.
