Revision Theme 3. All about heroes!!

What is the difference between can & be able to? (in NL antwoorden)

Can and to be able to

• Can / to be able to = kunnen

• Als je wilt zeggen dat iemand iets kan, dan kun je can + hele werkwoord of to be able to + hele werkwoord gebruiken. 

• Can = gebruik je bij vaardigheden/ kunnen. I can swim!
• Be able to = gebruik je als je wilt zeggen dat iemand in staat is om iets te doen. I am not able to run a marathon. 
• Zinnen met to be able to zijn formeler dan zinnen met can.
