DEFENITION:

  • Any microscopic organism. Mainly bacteria, protists, some fungi, and even some tiny multi-cellular organisms.
  • An organism that causes disease
  • Very small living organisms that can sometimes cause disease eg. salmonella
  • A tiny, nonliving particle that invades and then reproduces inside a living cell.
  • A group of living organisms in 'their own kingdom.' This means they are not animals, plants, or bacteria. eg) Yeast, mould
  • Organisms that grow, feed, and shelter on or in another organism (referred to as the host), while contributing nothing to the survival of that organism, they must have a host to survive.
