Relative clauses

Relative clauses zijn betrekkelijke bijzinnen.

Bijv.:

De vrouw, wiens vader autocoureur is, heeft zojuist boodschappen gedaan.

The woman, whose father is a racecar driver, has just finished shopping for groceries.

Who - bij personen

Which - bij dieren & dingen

That - personen, dieren & dingen (kan soms weggelaten worden)

Relative clauses

Relative clauses zijn betrekkelijke bijzinnen.

Who - Joyce, who lives two houses down the street, is my best friend.
Which - The train, which was supposed to leave at ten, broke down before it even departed. 

That - Singing is a hobby that takes up a lot of my time. 

Possessives 

Bezittelijke voornaamwoorden

Bijv.: 

Dat zijn mijn boeken. - Those are my books.

Die boeken zijn van mij. - Those books are mine.

Is dat jouw trui? - Is that your sweater?

Die pennen zijn van hem. - Those pens are his.
