Adjectives 
An adjective (bijv. naamwoord) tells you something about a noun.

Examples:
- This is a beautiful car. (beautiful - refers to the car = a noun)
- That is a perfect match.

Adverbs (= bijwoorden)
- are made by adding -ly to the adjective (quick - quickly)
- tell you how something is done
- say something about a verb, another adverb or an adjective.

Examples
She sings wonderfully. (wonderfully - refers to the verb to sing)
That music is loud --> He is talking loudly
Please be quiet. --> and whisper quietly

ADVERBS
1. We use adverbs to say something about a verb.

Examples:
  • The children protested loudly.
  • My sister walked in proudly.
  • Mary sings wonderfully.

2. When we want to say something about an adjective

Examples:
  • This is a terribly spacious room.
  • I am eating an amazingly delicious steak right now.

3. To say something about another adverb.

Examples:
  • They reacted very angrily.
  • The boy ran incredibly fast.
  • My grandparents talk incredibly loudly.

Examples:
  • Hopefully, she will call me back later.
  • Luckily, the bus was on time.
  • Unfortunately, I lost my watch.

Adverb or Adjective?
3 Steps:
1. Find out to which word it refers.
2. To a noun -> it's an adjective
3. To a verb/adjective/adverb -> add -ly to the adjective (or nothing when it is irregular)
