Different ways to talk about the future

1. will + infinitive

2. to be going to + infinitive

3. Present simple

1. will + infinitive

will = zullen

short form = 'll

You use will to talk about predictions in the future. 

These predictions are often unsure. 

examles

I think I will have 3 kids when I'm older. 

I hope we'll see you in the summer vacation. 

Maybe I'll call you tonight. 

In ten years time all cars will run on hydrogen.

Promises 

You  also use will for promises:

I will never tell anyone your secret.

I will stop smoking.

I won't let you down!

Spontaneous decisions

You  also use will for spontaneous decisions:

*doorbell rings* I'll open it.

I'll help you with that.

I'll get you something to eat.

2. To be going to + infinitive

You use this form to talk about thing you have planned:

I'm going to play football after school.

We're going to go out for dinner this weekend. 

She is going to cook dinner for us tonight. 

3. Present simple

You use the present simple for all things related to schedules.

for example: 

• public transport
• opening and closing times
• school schedules

Present simple

Shit rule: 

He/she/it --> ww + S

Use do/does + infinitive for questions

Use don't/doesn't + infinitive for negations

examples

School starts at 8.45 tomorrow. 

The shops close at 9 pm tonight. 

Hurry up, the bus leaves in 5 minutes!

The plane arrives at 8pm next Friday.
