Shall

Will is preferred to shall in mordern English

Mainly used for I & WE

• used to make an offer/suggestion
• used to ask for advice

Shall

shall + infinitive (stam)

I shall contact you again when I have further information.

Be going to

Be (am / is / are) + going to + infinitive

Talking about future intentions or plans

Talk about future predictions

A: We've run out of milk. B: I know, I am going to buy some.

Be going to - negative

am / is / are + NOT + going to + infinitive

She is not going to travel to Jamaica this summer.

Breth and Denise are not going to pay by credit card. 

Differences

Be going to / Will

 it's possible to use both 'be going to' and 'will' but it's more common to use 'be going to' if we can see evidence in the present
