Vorm:  will (won't) + hele w.w.

Gebruik:

• Spontane beslissingen: Look! There's Tommy. I will go and say hello.
  
• Beloftes: I promise I won't tell anyone.
  
• Wanneer je iets aanbiedt: I'll help you carry your bags.
  
• Voor het maken voor voorspellingen als het gebaseerd is op je eigen gedachtes (geen bewijs): I think you will do well in your exams. 
  

be going to

Vorm:  to be (am, is, are) + going to + hele w.w.

Gebruik:

• Voor het maken voor voorspellingen als het gebaseerd op wat je kunt zien (wel bewijs): Look at that! He is going to jump in the river. 
• Wanneer je al iets besloten hebt, voor plannen: I am going to invite her to my party.
• Als je vraagt naar de plannen van iemand anders: Are you going to watch TV  tonight.
