Past Simple vragend:

1) Als het werkwoord was/were (be) is dan maak je de vraag met de volgende formule:

was/were + onderwerp + rest vd zin.

2) als het werkwoord niet was/were is dan gebruik je deze formule:

did + onderwerp + hele werkwoord + rest vd zin

Voorbeelden:

1. Was he here yesterday?

2. Were you upset with me?

3. Did you play Fifa?

4. Did she do her homework?

5. Did they run away from the police?

6. Did they have a fight?

Past Simple ontkennend:

1) Als het werkwoord was/were (be) is dan maak je de ontkenning met de volgende formule:

onderwerp + wasn't/weren't + rest vd zin

2) als het werkwoord niet was/were is dan gebruik je deze formule:

onderwerp + didn't + hele werkwoord + rest vd zin

Voorbeelden

1. He wasn't very happy.

2. They were not angry.

4. She didn't have a blue ball.

5. They didn't work here.

6. We didn't catch a fish.

Zinnen terug veranderen

Als een zin al in de past simple staat en je wilt deze ontkennend (negation) of vragend (question) maken dan moet je goed oplettendat je het HELE WERKWOORD gebruikt.

Did + onderwerp + hele werkwoord

Onderwerp + didn't + hele werkwoord

1. He played football 

--> He didn't play football

2. She caught a fish

--> She didn't catch a fish

3. He worked here

--> Did he work here?

4. They swam far.

--> Did they swim far?
