Today's Lesson

• We'll look at some interesting words and their definitions
• You'll have the chance to look at some interesting Christmas vocabulary!
  
• Then you'll get the chance to come up with some interesting definitions for these Christmassy words
  

Aims of Today's Lesson

By the end of the lesson you'll be able to:

• Explain or write down what types of words we're working with (nouns, verbs, adjectives, phrases, etc..)
• create/write down some creative definitions for these words
  
• Will be able to explain what the real definitions of these words are, and what your own definitions mean, and why it means that

We're going to look at some nice words now, and then I'll tell you more about the assignment

Pick 5 to 10 of the following words/phrases:

Christmas Assignment

• In groups of 4 or 5 you're going to come up with your own definitions of 5 to 10 words/phrases that you saw on the list 
• If you don't know what a word means look it up!!
• Also, note down if the word is a noun, verb, phrase or something else! (like you saw in the example)
  
• You will get 20 minutes to impress me!
• In your group you have to then decide on the best one you made and send it to me in an email: [e-mail]
• So, I want 1 WORD + DEFINITION COMBINATION from each group
• Together, we'll pick the best word + definition combination
  
• The group that wins may get a nice prize!

Extra rule: make nice definitions! No cuss words, no making fun of classmates. Keep it cool, people! It's almost Christmas, after all!
