4 vormen van de future:

• Will / shall
• To be going to
• Present continuous
• present simple 

Use future with "will": 

1. bij een plan dat tijdens het gesprek ontstaat.

2. bij een spontaan aanbod, een belofte of een verzoek.

3. bij een voorspelling die gebaseerd is op een mening of bij onzekerheid over de toekomst.

4. bij feiten of algemene waarheden.

will / shall + hele ww

Examples:

1. I'll get you some more tea.

2. Shall I buy a present for dad?

3. They won't be on time, I'm afraid.

4. A scared cat will scratch you.

will not / won't

shall not / shan't

Use future with "to be going to":

1. Als je iets van plan bent en het plan was er al voor het gesprek

2. Voorspellingen waar je bewijs voor hebt

I am going to / I'm not going to

He is going to / He isn't going to

we are going to / We aren't going to

To be (am/is/are) going to + hele ww

Examples:

1. We're going to work on our project this afternoon.

2. This car is going to slip. The road is really icy.

Use future with "Present Continuous" (am/is/are + ww + ing):

- er is al een afspraak is gemaakt/iets is vastgelegd.

- iets gaat binnenkort vrijwel zeker gebeuren.

Examples

I'm visiting my gran tomorrow.

Sean is having a party next week

I am listening / I am not listening

You are listening/ Your aren't listening

He is listening / He isn't listening

Use future with "Present Simple": (hele ww zonder to/ bij she/he/it +S)

- Dingen die volgens een vaste tijdsplanning verlopen (bijvoorbeeld een dienstregeling of een rooster).

Examples:

 Your train leaves at 7.15 a.m.

The film starts at 9 o'clock

We listen / We don't listen

You listen / You don't listen

He listens / He doesn't listen (SHIT rule!)
