Linking words (voegwoorden)

• Linking words (voegwoorden) worden gebruikt om twee zinnen samen te voegen. OF Ze verbinden 2 zinnen met elkaar.

• Linking words: and, but, because, so

• Elke voegwoord heeft een eigen betekenis. Let's check them out!

Linking word: and 

• And--> toevoeging (addition)

Voorbeeld:

Sofia likes to use Instragram.

She uses snapchat a lot.

Linking word: but

• But--> tegenstelling (contrast)

Voorbeeld:

I have to do my homework.

Our computer is broken.

I have to do my homework but our computer is broken.

Linking word: because

• Because--> reden/uitleg (reason/explanation)

Voorbeeld:

I bought a new phone.

I dropped my old phone.

I bought a new phone because I dropped my old phone.

• So--> waarom iets gebeurd (why something happens)

Voorbeeld:

The bus is usually late.

I often cycle to school.

The bus is usually late so I often cycle to school.
