Reported / Indirect Speech
We report what a character said in our own words (so not literally).
The whole sentence should be in past tense, and mind when the action in the reported speech happened

Examples
He claimed he had already finished his homework. (action afgelopen)
He told her he was doing his homework. (action toen bezig)
He claimed he liked watching movies. (feit)
He said he would finish his homework later. (moest nog gebeuren)
