Objective

Familiarize yourself with the Travel Information Manual.

You can look up travel information related to, among other things, visas.

What information is important for the passenger?

For a Passenger Service Agent, it's important to know under what conditions a passenger is allowed to travel and how much goods can be imported.

Where can we find this information?

On the right, you can see an image of the Travel Information Manual. This is a guide that describes, for each country, under what conditions travel is permitted.

How up-to-date is a paper guide?

The guide is reissued and distributed to handlers and airlines every month.

How do you interpret the information? (1/2)

The countries are listed in alphabetical order.

For each destination, a standard structure has been chosen.

Document Validity: Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for the period of intended stay.

a. Passports and other documents accepted for entry issued to nationals of Mauritius must be valid on arrival.

b. Passports and other documents accepted for entry issued to residents of Mauritius must be valid on arrival.

Admission and Transit Restrictions: Chinese Taipei passports are not recognized for entry and transit (see Notes).

Crew Members: Same regulations as for passengers apply.

Military: Same Regulations as for passengers apply.

Notes:  Holders of such documents must abtain an entry permit at the Mauritius Passport & Immigration Office before travel.

Geographical Information: Capital - Port Louis (MRU)

1. Passport: Transit passengers must hold a passport or passport replacing document accepted to enter Mauritius.

Passport Required.

Passport Exemptions:

1. Passenger with a travel document (Titre de Voyage) or Certificicate of Identity issued by the Government of Mauritius,

2. Passengers with a Laissez-Passer issued by the United Nations or any other internationally recognized organization.

3. Passengers with a Seaman Book traveling on duty.

4. Passengers with an Interpol passport.

5. Passengers with an emergency or temporary passport.

2. Nationals of Anglola, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas (,etc.,etc,), Netherlands (,etc,etc,), Zambia and Zimbabwe for a maximum stay for 90 days.

3. Passengers with a British passport for a maximum stay of 90 days.

4. Passengers with a Hong Kong (SAR China) passport for a maximum stay of 90 days.

5. Passengers with a Macao (SAR China) passport for a maximum stay of 90 days.

6. Nationals of any country with a diplomatic passport for a maximum stay of 90 days.

TWOV (Transit Without Visa): Holders of confirmed onward tickets for a max. transit time of 24 hours.
