Scenario 1: 
In the class' appgroup someone shared a picture of a diary entry. It's unclear who the diary belongs to and now everyone is trying to guess based on the handwriting.
What do you think about this? Does it matter what exactly is written in the diary entry that has been shared? Explain your answer. 
Would you say something if this would happen in our class app? Why/why not?

Scenario 2:
You have a crush on someone and you start an internet search. You find a lot of pictures, information about your crush' family members, which sport they play, who their friends are and in which neighbourhood they live
How would you feel if someone did this to you? 
Does it matter who would do this? 
Back in the old days, finding out information about people was done by actually talking to them. Was this better? Why?
What if, during your search, you find information that you hadn't wanted to know. How would you deal with that? Would you be sorry that you started your search in the first place?
Are there any thing online about you that you hope no one will ever find? 
Have you ever googled your own name? What did you find? Is all the information correct?

One of your school friends told you in confidence that her dad is really sick. One day some kids are gossiping about her and saying things about her dad that are all untrue. But you know the real story
What are you going to do? Will you tell them what is really going on? 
Or are you going to do something completely different? Why? 
Or do you do nothing? Why?

Scenario 4
You are in a voicechat with some friends, playing a game. Suddenly you hear screaming in the background of one of your friends. It's his dad who is yelling at him quite loudly. Your friend starts yelling back and there's a sound of somebody getting hit. Everyone in the chat is completely silent.  The following day you find out somebody in the group recorded what happened and shared the recording with people in school. 
How do you feel? Is there anything you would do the moment you heard something like this happening to one of your friends? 
Are you going to discuss what happened with your friend at a later time? 
Should anyone inform a teacher? 
Will you tell your friend the recording has been made and shared with others? 
Will you do anything else? Like what?

What is online privacy?
  • Article 10 of our constitution states that alle citizens have a right to privacy and that the government's job is to respect and protect their citizen's privacy. 
  • The AVG is the new Dutch privacy law. It ensures that the government, businesses, organisations and citizens treat everyone's personal information in a responsible way.
  • The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) checks if everyone follows the privacy rules and can hand out fines if this does not happen.
