Main Idea: The main point or most important idea in a paragraph or text. It tells us what the paragraph is about in a broader sense.

Topic Sentence: The sentence that introduces the main idea of the paragraph. It's usually found at the beginning of the paragraph.

Why is this important?

Effective Communication:

In written and verbal communication, being able to identify and articulate the main idea helps convey your message clearly and 

concisely.

Crafting a strong topic sentence is essential in written communication as it sets the tone for the entire piece and guides the reader on what to expect.

Reading Comprehension:

When reading, recognizing the main idea and topic sentence helps in understanding the central message of a passage or text.

It enables individuals to grasp key concepts, extract relevant information, and comprehend the overall meaning of the content.
