Wanneer en hoe gebruik je het voegwoord
als
Wanneer = when
zin 1: Ik bel je. ( I will call you)
zin 2: Ik ben thuis. (I am home)
Voegwoord: wanneer (when). 

You might place the connecting word 'wanneer' in the middle or at the start of the 2 sentences to combine them.

Option 1: Ik bel je, wanneer ik thuis ben. (connecting word is in the middle of the 2 sentences)
Subject-direct verb-object, connecting word subject- place-direct verb

Conclusion 1: The sentence prior to the connecting word, starts with a subject followed by the direct verb.
Conclusion 2: After the connecting word, follows the subject and the other sentence part(s), but the direct verb is towards the end of the sentence.

Conclusion 2: The place of the verb in the second sentence is immediately after the comma, followed by the subject.
