2. Edpuzzle
3. Pickleball equipment (paddles, balls, and nets)
4. Cones or markers for court setup

Welcome, class!

Today, we're diving into the exciting world of Pickleball. But before we pick up our paddles and hit the court, we will warm up our bodies and then take a moment to explore the history and basic rules of this engaging sport.

Warm-up
Alright, class! Now that we have our minds focused on Pickleball, it's time to get our bodies ready for some action. We're going to start with a brief warm-up, and I want you all to follow along.

Conduct a brief warm-up to prepare students for physical activity.  

  1. Jumping Jacks (2 minutes)
  2. Arm Circles (1 minute)
  3. Leg Swings (1 minute)
  4. Torso Twists (1 minute)
  5. High Knees (1 minute)

Intro
Introduce Ezpuzzle and explain how it will be used to reinforce the rules and strategies of Pickleball.  

Students will work through the Ezpuzzle to gain a basic understanding of the Pickleball rules, court dimensions, and gameplay strategies.

Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a section of the court.

Group Activities
  • Divide the class into teams and set up multiple Pickleball courts using cones or markers. 
  • Allow students to practice their newly acquired skills in a controlled environment. 
  • Circulate among the groups to provide guidance and feedback.

  • Conclude the lesson with a cool-down activity, incorporating static stretches and relaxation techniques. 
  • Use this time to facilitate a brief class discussion on their experience with Pickleball and Ezpuzzle.
